At the ballpark the Dyersville Jurassics outscored the Tampico Stogies 5 to
2.
Phil Hughes(8-0) gave Dyersville a solid outing. He allowed only 6 hits and 1
walk in 8 and 1/3 innings. Tampico made it exciting in the 9th, but they
were unable to push the needed runs across.
Joe Nathan recorded his 35th save. Edinson Volquez(1-6) was charged with the
loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his 5 and 2/3 innings.
Jim Aldrich was in a talkative mood in the clubhouse, 'Great game! If only we
could win all of the close ones - wouldn't that be nice! Since that's not
going to happen, I think I'll savor this one for a little while.'
